When was the Unique Group first established?
The Unique Group’s inception traces back to 1977 when it began trading under the name Unique Interiors. Although formally established in 2020, the company’s roots extend to its early days as Unique Interiors and still holds the strong family-run values that it did all of them years ago.
What services does your company offer?
The Unique Group prides itself on being a family-run, comprehensive solution provider, working off the tagline of “One Company, One Solution.” They are structured into four divisions: Fire & Security, Tech & Electrical, Property Care and Renewable Energy, positioning itself as a one-stop-shop for all home improvement needs. Many clients, contractors and specifiers struggle with large or bespoke projects where various systems have to work together. This is why Unique created specialist businesses internally so they can be one point of contact for all your needs.
Their dedicated team offers a wide range of services ranging from securing homes and businesses against fire and theft to delivering complete electrical, renewable, audio-visual installations, and bespoke property solutions.
How has the company expanded and developed over the years?
Over the last two decades, the Unique brand has grown rapidly, now boasting a team of 60+ employees. Initially focusing on interiors, later rebranded as Property Care, the company witnessed the birth of Unique Fire & Security in 2011, which has since experienced substantial growth. Unique Fire & Security now hosts regional offices in Dorset, Hampshire, Devon, and Cornwall.
In 2015, Unique Tech & Electrical emerged, evolving from a few home automation projects to delivering full turnkey home automation and electrical contracting for homes across Dorset. They now work with many local property developers on all aspects of electrical projects.
The most recent addition, Unique Renewable Energy, was established in 2022, aligning with the evolving landscape of home energy. The division now operates as a limited company, offering solar panel, heat pump, battery storage, and EV charger installations, now having carried out a large number of residential and commercial projects. They have recently taken on a large job refurbishing and enhancing a large solar farm in the southwest.
Despite the comprehensive range of services, Unique continues to grow annually, constantly seeking opportunities to enhance and expand services for homes and businesses across the South Coast.
