The New Year and the promise of Spring provides us with a brief moment of reflection, a time to regather and an opportunity to set out plans and ideas for the year ahead.
For me, as a flower lover, I wholeheartedly embrace the arrival of Spring and whilst January is technically Winter, the appearance of Spring Flowers means that I can focus on a whole new world of botanical beauty.
I’ve compiled my Top 10 list of Spring Flowers (in no particular order!) – just a small selection of cut flowers that I love to use at this time of year.
- Amaryllis – a majestic flower that oozes class and stature
- Viburnum – lime green pom-poms of citrus vibrancy
- Syringa – cut lilac provides subtle colours and soothing fragrance
- Mimosa – soft fluffy balls of highly scented yellow happiness!
- Tulip – the queen of all Spring Flowers!
- Narcissus – a myriad of varieties all them with a charm of their own
- Hyacinth – perfumed and long lasting
- Ranunculus – a kaleidoscope of colours with soft papery texture
- Anemone – delicate, precious and desirable
- Freesia – ever popular and totally adorable
