What is a Vampire Faclift?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, also known as the ‘Vampire Facelift’ or ‘Dracula Therapy’ and including the brands Regen, GLOPRP, Angel Lift and Cellenis works on the basis that the body’s own natural healing powers may slow and even reverse the ageing process; it’s a revolutionary repair system that places growth factors in the exact location where we want the skin to repair and rejuvenate itself.
Why is it called Vampire?
The treatment involves harvesting platelets from the patient’s own blood in order to inject them into problem skin areas, starting with the extraction of a minimal amount of the patient’s blood. However, unlike vampires who are normally portrayed with pasty, pale skin, you can expect a radiant, youthful and healthy look.
This is then placed in a centrifuge to spin down the blood which separates the red blood cells from the platelet rich plasma. Platelets contain a high content of “growth factors” – proteins that help to heal injured tissue or damaged skin. Upon re-injection the platelets release their growth factors which trigger surrounding cells to proliferate, in turn stimulating repair, increasing volume and rejuvenating the skin.

What area does it treat?

What is the process?
Each treatment will take approximately an hour, depending on the size of the area being treated. The process we use is:
- A numbing cream is applied to the treatment area
- The treatment is discussed and consent obtained
- A small amount of blood is taken from your arm
- This is placed in a centrifuge for ten minutes where it spins and separates the blood components
- The yellow nutrient-rich plasma is then injected in to the treatment area using either a syringe and needle and/or dermapen
You will be given after care instructions to follow but downtime is minimal and therefore there is no need to take time off work following the treatment
