Inside the home
With expansive bi-fold doors and windows overlooking the garden, the homeowner wanted to bring the outdoors in so our expert design team recommended a modern shading solution – Luxaflex® Twist electric roller blinds that can be operated effortlessly by remote control. With three positions – up, partially down, or fully closed – these durable fabric blinds allow for seamless adjustment throughout the day.
For the client’s lantern roof, the SHY Zip® roof blind can be programmed to open and close on a timer or when sensing the sun. With the sides housed in a channel rail, gaps were sealed, offering invaluable glare and heat blocking properties, as well as a seamless aesthetic.
The Garden Pub
A recent addition to the home, and a very popular one, was the client’s rustic ‘pub’ nestled at the end of the garden which was next on the list. Wanting to enclose the wooden structure thanks to the unpredictable British weather, we recommended zip screens from Europe’s leading shading manufacturer, Brustor®. The B1100 zip screens are highly wind-resistant and the tensioned fabric and unique zip edge channel would prevent the fabric from flapping in high winds.
Also made from an easy-to-clean, UV-stabilised textile that cannot fade, rot, or crack, the screens allow a view of the outside while still providing privacy for those within. The client can operate the screens separately or in groups by remote control, or opt to use the sunlight sensor.
To finish, we added two outdoor wall heaters, turning the garden pub into a warm and cosy space to enjoy all year round.
The Patio Area
Finally, we installed two Brustor® B25 Elite awnings onto the back wall of the house. These provide space to sit and enjoy the rear garden come rain or shine, protect furnishings from UV light, and reduce heat indoors during the summer.
The folding arm awning was chosen to cover the outdoor sofa and was installed with an enhanced wall heater and wind sensor to automatically retract the awning in high wind. The second awning covered the sunbed and also features an in-built wind sensor. Both can be operated by remote control or phone app, and withstand exceptionally strong wind and rain.
White fabric and cassette boxes were chosen to blend sympathetically with the house, transforming the patio into a sleek, modern space to unwind.
