So how did you get into making jewellery?
I started making the jewellery primarily for something to do during the first lock down. I have always had a love for “surf style” jewellery from my days managing a Quiksilver Boardrider store back in the late 90’s early 2000’s so it was an easy choice to go down this route. A few people commented that they were good enough to sell which sowed the seed! And here we are now.

What inspires your designs?
The sea, the beach and the coastline! Sometimes I just see a colour combination and think – how I can use it?  Inspiration can come from anywhere really. I love adding different sea creatures and using a variety of different beads to create a fun piece of jewellery with a seaside feel!

What do you enjoy most about hand making the jewellery?
It’s the end product! To start with an idea, and a pile of beads, and then have a lovely piece of jewellery to wear at the end is very satisfying.   

How do you make your jewellery more affordable than other similar products?
It’s all about managing costs and not generating waste. If I have a few beads left over from making a run of bracelets or necklaces, I will make a “one off” pair of earrings or something else. I have also recently changed my packaging to recyclable cardboard boxes and re-useable organza bags, making them an ideal gift. This may not have been a cost saver to me but certainly adds to the overall value for money for the customer and of course is better for the environment. It also goes back to my days in retail and knowing what customers price point expectations are for this type of product.

Are the designs unisex?
Yes, some of the natural wood bead bracelets certainly are. I have plans next year to incorporate some leather designs, with a more masculine look. Watch this space!

We offer free delivery within 6 miles of Mudeford and also you can get in touch with us to arrange collection – good for those last minute Christmas shoppers! We also do a lot of local festivals which I post on the website and also on Instagram and Facebook.
