The Covid-19(lbs)

Our new Elegant Slim programme debuted earlier this year, and it’s an ideal time to go into a bit more detail about what it can do for you and your lifestyle. For those of us who haven’t started sparkling new fitness regimes and lean, clean diet plans during furlough, the novelty of the lockdown weight gain has run out. We’re going back to work, we’re socialising again, we’re even thinking a beach holiday might be within reach, so the jogging bottoms and hoody are no longer an option. And it’s not just an aesthetics issue. Being overweight can affect your sleep patterns, mood and hormones, as well as putting you more at risk from conditions such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes and stroke.

The answer? Elegant Slim. It’s not just a quick fix, it’s a treatment programme that can encompass diet, exercise and lifestyle advice alongside prescription-strength slimming medications (if appropriate). All programmes start with a one-to-one medical consultation with our independent prescribing pharmacist, Shikha. We will take measurements, discuss your lifestyle and habits, take a full medical history and see which treatment would be most suitable for you. In order for you to safely benefit from the medications, we do require that you have a BMI of over 27. If you are below this, we can still offer plenty of advice about tweaking your daily routine to get you back down to an ideal weight.

We have various options for medicated treatment: Elegant Slim Pen, Elegant Slim Capsules and Elegant Slim Tablets. They all have different modes of action, but the most popular and convenient is the pen.

It’s a daily injection that’s licensed for use in the UK for weight reduction. It works by reducing your appetite, helping you to stick to the sensible portion sizes needed to stimulate weight loss. Over the last 30 years, our UK portion sizes have been steadily increasing and adults are regularly eating far more than the recommended 2000cal per day. We need to retrain our minds and bodies to recognise how much we actually need to consume and still be healthy.

After your initial consultation, we provide you with two weeks supply of the pens and give you full instructions of dosage as well as a demonstration of how to use them. Our clinician is available for one-to-one support during working hours, and will endeavour to reply to any queries you may have within the same day. We will then call you back into surgery for follow up appointments every two weeks to monitor your progress and adjust the dose if needed. After six weeks, we will see you monthly until your weight loss goals are met.

So book in for a consultation and take your first steps to a more Elegant you…

Meet Shikha Rishi
I am a highly experienced Aesthetics Pharmacist and have a number of years training under the world-renowned Dr. Katie Goldie in Harley Street, London and Dr Tim Pearce at SkinViva, Manchester.  My own clinic is based in my home town of Bournemouth.  I am a conscientious practitioner. I want to understand your aims and expectations and together we will come to a joint treatment plan. This is proven to give a much more natural and longer-lasting result than a “one size fits all” approach to Botox and fillers. I only use the most advanced techniques and products in my consultations including the well-established Botox and Juvederm ranges. I look forward to welcoming you into the clinic and to begin our journey together, revealing a more elegant you.
