There’s a new buzz in the heart of Christchurch — and it’s not just the sound of clinking glasses from their prosecco-fuelled launch night! The Venue has officially opened its doors, bringing cutting-edge technology, luxury treatments, and a whole new level of self-care to the high street. We sat down with the passionate founder, Emily Dillon, to talk about the big day, the inspiration behind the space, and what makes The Venue such a standout destination for locals and visitors alike.
First things first – congratulations on the grand opening! Tell us all about the big day – how did it go?
Thank you so much, Vicky! It was a fantastic success — we were so pleased to have everyone we’d hoped for in attendance, and the turnout overall was amazing. Guests were welcomed with prosecco on arrival and treated to delicious canapés, kindly prepared by our lovely new neighbours, MAW, just across the road. We also showcased live demonstrations of all the exciting new technology and treatments we have on offer, which created such a buzz throughout the evening.
What inspired you to open The Venue here in Christchurch?
Christchurch has always stood out to me as an idyllic and quaint location — full of charm, character, and a strong sense of community. It felt like the perfect place to bring something truly special. I was inspired by the idea of complementing the town’s unique appeal with a venue that offers luxury, class, and cutting-edge technology, while still feeling warm and welcoming.
It was quite literally by chance that this space became available, so I feel lucky to be right on the high street, amongst all the hustle and bustle. I wanted to add to what Christchurch already offers, but also bring something new — top-tier treatments, exceptional customer service, and an elevated experience people don’t have to travel far to find. It’s about creating a destination that both locals and visitors can be proud of.
For those who haven’t popped in yet, how would you describe the look and feel of the salon?
The look and feel of The Venue is truly what makes it unique. It’s a beautiful balance — sleek yet inviting, clinical yet comforting. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to create a stunning, welcoming space. From our signature salon scent and stylish reception area to a curated selection of refreshments and exceptional customer service that greets you the moment you walk in, nothing has been overlooked.
It’s a space that feels classy, sophisticated, and professional — the type of clinic you’d expect to find in Dubai, Paris, or London, but without the extravagant price tag.
What services do you offer, and what makes The Venue stand out?
Where do we start? We can confidently treat virtually every skin ageing concern. Our services range from laser hair removal, hair loss treatments, and pelvic floor therapy to advanced skincare, beauty treatments, nails, and so much more.
What truly makes The Venue stand out is the combination of cutting-edge technology — with state-of-the-art machines across all our branches — and our exceptional team. Every member of our staff is trained to the highest standard, with ongoing development and education supported throughout their career journeys.
We’re also proud to offer convenience without compromise: open seven days a week and until 9pm, we cater to even the busiest of schedules.
And of course, our customer service is at the heart of everything we do. From our easy-to-use booking system and warm, knowledgeable front-of-house team to our beautiful setting — complete with barista-style coffee and carefully curated refreshments — every detail has been designed to create an experience that is relaxing, luxurious, and truly unlike anything else.
Have you introduced anything a little different or unexpected in your service menu – something that might surprise first-time visitors?
Yes, we’ve definitely taken a more specialist approach at our new Christchurch location, introducing three exciting and innovative machines to our offering.
First, we have the Cynosure system — a leading technology for both hair removal and skin rejuvenation. Then there’s our pelvic floor machine, designed to treat pelvic floor weakness and incontinence in both men and women. This is offered in partnership with our on-site pelvic floor physiotherapist, creating a truly unique and holistic service — in fact, we’re the only clinic in the South to provide this specialist combination.
And last, but by no means least, is the renowned HydraFacial — loved globally for delivering flawless, glowing skin for both men and women. Beyond facial treatments, the HydraFacial is also used to support hair loss and targeted body treatments, making it incredibly versatile and effective for a wide range of concerns.
You must have a dream team working with you – can you introduce us to a few of the faces behind The Venue?
Yes, absolutely — we really do!
First, I’d love to introduce you to our Branch Manager, Sarah. She’s recently been promoted and has moved over from our Wallisdown location to lead and grow the Christchurch branch and team. With over 15 years of experience in the industry — and having been part of our company for more than eight years — Sarah is a true asset. We’re incredibly lucky and proud to have her. We can’t wait to see how she shapes the Christchurch clinic and continues to develop her growing team.
I’d also like to introduce Jenna, our General Manager, who oversees all branches and their managers. Jenna is the driving force behind the company — she’s been with us for over nine years and brings an incredible depth of knowledge, passion, and leadership. We honestly don’t know what we’d do without her! She’s especially excited to get involved with the Christchurch location, connect with the local community, and participate in upcoming events.

What’s next for The Venue – any exciting plans on the horizon or events we should keep an eye out for?
The Venue is constantly evolving — even I can barely keep up! On the horizon, we’re excited to be launching our very own app exclusively for our loyal and valued clients, with a release planned for June. We also just went live with our brand-new website this week, and we’re thrilled with how it’s come together.
