New XPENG opens first UK dealerships for its EV range
Chinese car maker XPENG has opened its first UK dealerships, ushering in the start of its UK retail launch. With locations in Nottingham and Southampton now open, the first of these UK retail spaces arrive alongside the launch of XPENG’s G6, an electric premium SUV.
“The opening of our first UK retailers and the arrival of the XPENG G6 is a crucial moment for our business and for British car buyers,” said William Brown, Managing Director of International Motors Limited, XPENG’s UK distributor.”
Newly appointed dealers in Nottingham and Southampton will give many customers their first chance to explore XPENG’s range of models.

At the heart of XPENG’s UK launch is its new G6, powered by an advanced battery and motor system, the G6 delivers up to 286 PS with an impressive claimed range of up to 354 miles (WLTP). As ever though the real-world range will be less and dependent on driving conditions and weather, in winter electric cars always lose range. That said the claimed 354 miles, even taking into account real-world factors should provide decent useability. The 800V high-voltage architecture enables the G6 to recharge from 10% to 80% in less than 20 minutes, using a 280kW charger if you can find one, but yet again this also bodes well for the charging time on less powerful chargers too.
Inside the G6 its minimalist, high-tech cabin offers an ultra-modern experience, with a panoramic glass roof, a substantial central touchscreen, and an AI-driven operating system. XPENG’s driver assistance system promises to be arguably one of the more advanced semi-autonomous driving capabilities on offer.
