Marwell Zoo announces action-packed 2025
Marwell Zoo is set to make 2025 a year to remember with an action-packed programme of events.
From spectacular seasonal highlights to immersive trails and conservation-themed activities, there is fun for all the family, all while supporting the vital conservation work at the heart of the zoo’s mission.
A highlight of the 2025 calendar is a world-exclusive summer event showcasing a collection of incredible creatures crafted entirely from toy bricks. Watch this space for more details!

February Half Term: The Creature Cases Trail
Saturday 15 – Monday 24 February
Step into the shoes of a junior detective and join Agents Kit Casey and Sam Snow from Netflix’s hit series The Creature Cases on an exciting and educational trail. Crack clues, uncover hidden secrets, and help solve The Case of the Missing Pebble in this fun and educational adventure for the whole family!
March: Celebrating UK Wildlife
March marks the celebration of the UK’s incredible native wildlife. Craft a bug hotel or take part in other fun craft sessions during UK Native Species Saturdays (8, 15, 22 & 29 March) or explore Marwell’s new UK Native Species Zone, opening from 29 March. Highlights include a sand lizard habitat, an interactive discovery area, and the White-clawed Crayfish Conservation Breeding Centre.

Spring Highlights: Around the World in 80 Species and Easter Fun
Saturday 5 – Monday 21 April
Travel Around the World in 80 Species with a Marwell Passport, collecting stamps while learning about fascinating animals across the continents. Families can also join the Big Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday 20 April, with prizes and a chance to meet the Easter Bunny.

Scouting the Zoo
Saturday 10 & Sunday 11 May
Calling all Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Squirrels, Guides, Rainbows, Brownies, and everyone in between! Join us for Scouting the Zoo: Roar and Explore, a roarsome weekend or a purrfect day of fun, adventure, and learning. This action-packed weekend celebrates big cats and conservation with exclusive activities designed to inspire and educate. Together, we’ll paws for cats, pounce on conservation, and become fur-midable ambassadors for big cats around the world.
Wildlife Art Exhibition, Marwell Hall
Friday 23 May – Monday 26 May
Step into the stunning Grade I-listed Marwell Hall and immerse yourself in a celebration of wildlife art. Hosted by the Marwell International Wildlife Art Society, this inspiring exhibition showcases the incredible talent of artists, each capturing the beauty and diversity of the natural world through their work.

Love Your Zoo Week
Saturday 24 May – Sunday 1 June
This May half-term, join us for Love Your Zoo Week, a special celebration of everything that makes zoos so important. Enjoy a variety of activities designed to inspire and engage visitors of all ages. From interactive sessions to hands-on crafts, there are plenty of ways to get involved and share what you love most about Marwell.
Summer Fun: The Bricks are Back!

Scimitar-Horned Oryx Day
Saturday 16 August
Join us to celebrate the very first International Scimitar-Horned Oryx Day. Thanks to Marwell supporters, the once Extinct in the Wild scimitar-horned oryx now has its very own World Animal Day.
Carnivore Weekend
Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 September
Discover the fascinating world of Marwell’s incredible carnivores during this special weekend celebration. From powerful predators to agile hunters, join us as we shine a spotlight on these remarkable animals with engaging talks, activities, and insights into their vital role in the ecosystem.
October: Boo at the Zoo
Saturday 25 October – Sunday 2 November
There’ll be plenty of treats (and maybe a few tricks) in store for our guests this October half term. From broomstick flying to pumpkin carving, a visit to Marwell will be a spook-tacular day. More activities and details to come.
Firewalk
Saturday 8 November
Will you walk over hot coals for conservation? Take part in Marwell’s Firewalk and help raise vital funds for worldwide conservation.

A Magical Year-End: Glow Marwell
November –December
End the year with a sparkle at Glow Marwell returning for another season of enchanting lights and festive cheer.
