The pace slows down and familiar places feel just a little more special when viewed from Dorset Queen, the only vintage motor yacht operating on the South Coast of England. With spring arriving and the lighter evenings returning, Dorset Cruises is welcoming the new season with a collection of relaxed experiences.
Easter on the River Frome
Easter Sunday brings the first Wareham River Cruise of the year.
Departing Poole Quay at 10am, Dorset Queen turns west and drifts into the calm of the River Frome. This relaxing cruise up the picturesque river takes around 1 hour 10 minutes.
Guests step ashore in the historic Saxon town of Wareham for just over an hour, with time to explore at leisure, stroll beside the river or pause for a coffee before re-boarding for the return journey. The cruise arrives back into Poole Harbour at around 1:30pm, easing gently back into the hustle and bustle of the Quay.
The onboard bar remains open throughout, with live commentary from the Captain on the return leg and a welcoming crew always happy to share insights about this beautiful stretch of Dorset.

Nothing beats classic fish and chips and a glass of something chilled whilst taking in the breathtaking natural spectacle of World Heritage Site Jurassic Coast. It’s an experience that feels both nostalgic and indulgent.
It’s sociable without being busy, relaxed without feeling informal, and one of the most enjoyable ways to spend an easy afternoon on the harbour.

A Thoughtful Way to Celebrate Mother’s Day
This season, Dorset Cruises invites guests to swap traditional flowers for something a little more memorable with an Afternoon High Tea Cruise aboard Dorset Queen. Soft harbour views provide the backdrop to a relaxed afternoon, complete with homemade sandwiches, scones, clotted cream and jam, a glass of Prosecco and Dorset Tea.
Running every Wednesday throughout the summer from 29 April, the Afternoon High Tea Cruise is ideal as a thoughtful gift or a shared experience. Gift certificates are available, making it easy to give something to look forward to rather than something to unwrap.
