Beautiful stone worktops, made locally
When it comes to transforming a kitchen, few features make as much impact as the worktops. You use them every day; they make up one of the largest visual surfaces in the room, and they can completely change how a kitchen looks and feels.
At Portman Stone, we believe choosing beautiful stone should be an exciting part of the process – not a complicated one.
Based locally in Dorset, Portman Stone is a family-run business specialising in supplying, fabricating, and installing premium engineered and natural stone worktops.
With decades of experience and our own dedicated factory, our team manages the entire process in-house, from helping customers choose the perfect material through to templating, manufacturing, and final installation.
One of the biggest advantages of visiting us directly is choice. Our showroom and stone yard give customers the opportunity to see materials in person, compare colours and finishes and, where available, view the actual slabs that will be used for their project. Choosing from a small sample is often very different, particularly with natural materials where every slab has its own character.
Because we fabricate our worktops ourselves, customers are also buying directly from the people making them. Cutting out unnecessary middlemen can make premium stone worktops far more accessible than many homeowners expect, while giving our team complete control over quality at every stage.
Our experienced craftsmen combine traditional stone-working knowledge with modern technology, including digital templating and precision machinery, allowing us to produce everything from elegant kitchen worktops and islands to splashbacks, upstands, vanity tops, and bespoke stone features.
Whether you are undertaking a complete renovation or simply looking to give an existing kitchen a new lease of life, our team is always happy to offer advice and talk through the options available.
And with Christmas approaching, now is the perfect time to start planning. Securing your worktops with a small deposit means your project can be scheduled ahead of the busy festive period.
Visit Portman Stone and discover just how much difference the right surface can make to your home.
