Protecting Your Building

Steve Webber, Director of Maidmans Moving & Storage in Poole, has many years experience in the moving and storage industry.

Steve was recently asked “How will you protect my house from damage?”

Steve replied: “Building protection is something that should be provided by all removal companies. It is essential that not only the house you are leaving should not suffer any damage but also your new home too.

“As soon as we arrive, we will make sure the door frames and doors are protected by using door ‘jams’ and if necessary, door sleeves.

“We use a range of floor protection depending on whether you have carpets or hard flooring. Timber floors can easily be damaged if items are dropped or carpets  soiled if you are moving  on a wet day.

“Balustrades and handrails are vulnerable points whilst removals are taking place. Carrying furniture downstairs can be very tricky, so it is important that handrail protection is used to protect your stair fixings.

“Once everything has been delivered and positioned, we take away all the materials so you can enjoy your new  home.”
