Protecting Your Furniture

Steve Webber, Director of Maidmans Moving & Storage in Poole, has many years experience in the moving and storage industry.

Recently Steve was asked “How will you protect my furniture?”

Steve replied: “Planning the protection that will be required begins during the survey. All furniture and effects will have protection provided depending upon the item and the type of protection required. All mattresses will be wrapped in new polythene bags, which are recycled after use. The dining table and chairs will have their own padded specialist covers which are held on by Velcro straps as will the sofas.

TV’s have their own covers which also include a built in screen protector and any antique or personally valuable items will be export wrapped with specialist materials. The Estimator will make notes of these items so that when your removal crew arrive they will have the materials  ready to use.”

Steve suggests that it is advisable to always use specially designed wrapping & packing materials. He says: “All materials we use and supply are approved byThe British Association of Removers (BAR).

Whichever materials are used, our removals team are experienced in packing unusual, bulky, fragile and valuable items. You can rest assured we supply the best materials to ensure nothing gets damaged.”
