Help to Buy

You may have seen many new homes being advertised under the banner of ‘Help to buy’ but what does this mean and how can it help you get onto the property ladder?

Help to Buy is a government backed scheme and is available on many new developments as an equity loan. It is available to first time buyers and homeowners looking to move; applies to properties up to the value of £600,000.

If you are eligible for a mortgage to the value of 75% of the property you wish to buy, but are struggling to come up with the full 25% deposit, you may be eligible for Help To Buy with the government  lending you up to 20% as an interest free loan for five years, thus enabling you to proceed with a minimum 5% deposit.

At the end of the five year period you can either remortgage, sell the property or continue paying the loan with interest at 1.75%

Register your interest in buying new by contacting New Homes Dorset on 01202 878443.
