Reformed Plastics recently had the pleasure of undertaking a project for St James CE First School in Alderholt to create a range of outdoor furniture. They had some fantastic feedback from head teacher, Jo Hudson, who tells us more about why they chose to work with Reformed Plastics.
Why did you want products made from recycled plastic?
As part of the Heath Academy Trust, St James’ have taken part in a project this year around plastic waste and how this effects our planet. As part of this we have looked at ways in which we can reduce, reuse and recycle. Choosing recycled plastic benches fitted perfectly with the project, and provided us with fabulous new furniture which will last for a very long time!
Why you chose Reformed Plastics to provide them?
Again, to fit with the eco theme, we wanted to use a local company who produced recycled furniture in a family run business. From the offset they welcomed us into their factory, showing some pupils and staff the process of how the furniture is made. We got to individually design benches which suited our school, and therefore the school council each designed a bench based on their classes requirements which gave the children complete ownership. They even completed all the pricing to ensure they didn’t overspend!
Did Reformed Plastics fulfil your brief?
Absolutely! We are all absolutely thrilled with how the benches have given our playground such a lift and provided outdoor seating for lessons as well as for use during playtime. We will even get out and eat our lunch on them now the sunshine has appeared!
What about the products and services that they provided for you exceeded your expectations, and would you recommend them to others?
The product is sturdy, safe and will last for years, the colours of the plastics are so bright and colourful. We can’t thank Reformed Plastics enough. From start to finish they have been professional, prompt and met all our requirements. We are already planning what furniture we will have from them for the nursery!
