First-Class Cricket, Sporting Heroes, Corporate Hospitality, Charity… We’re Game. Are you?

Join the Harlem Globetrotters of cricket for a charity cricket day, involving a corporate lunch followed by a 20/20 fixture.

Taking place at Bournemouth Sports Club (Chapel Gate) on Friday 14th June, this one-day sporting extravaganza is designed to bring together the corporate fraternity, as well as cricket fans across the tri-counties, to revel in a summer soiree of sport and entertainment.

All-star names such as Gordon Greenidge, John Emburey and legendary commentator Henry Blofeld have been confirmed as honorary guests for the day.

After two years of success in the Bournemouth area, Lashings World XI has embarked on a series of international tours, including teaming up with the famous Barmy Army to provide first-class cricket events in destinations such as Jamaica, Barbados and more.

Joining forces for this one-day event in Bournemouth, are the powerhouse of Estate Agents Saxe Coburg and the leaders in sporting events, Dave Fitzgerald and Scott Charlton who run Lashings World XI.

The format of the day will be a kids’ coaching academy in the morning, followed by a corporate hospitality marquee lunch and then a T20 fixture. The Lashings World XI will face a Saxe Coburg Invitational XI. This stylish event aims to support Lashings World XI, with their 2019 commitment to raise over £10,000 for Macmillan Caring Locally. The charity’s ‘brick by brick appeal’ has captured hearts locally and is extremely fitting with Saxe Coburg’s community goals this year.

“Macmillan Caring Locally is an exceptional charity which Lashings has been supporting for the last few years. Their brick by brick appeal isn’t easy; they require £6,000,000.00 overall to build a new facility in Christchurch. We’re hoping companies will dig deep on the day to show their support for this outstanding charity,” says Lashings’ Director David Fitzgerald.

Tickets for the 2019 event are now on sale via Eventbrite. £450.00 for a table of 10 gets you a three-course meal, along with an afternoon of cricket, Q&A sessions, entertainment, an auction, and hopefully… sunshine.

There are also “gold” tables of 9 available, with a Lashings player joining your group, as well as various sponsorship opportunities available.

Saxe Coburg said of the occasion, “This is our second year sponsoring the annual Lashings World XI. This event brings together the best of the business world and provides serious cricket in an engaging and fun way. Anyone who knows their cricket needs to be there on 14th June.”

What you need to know about Lashings?
Lashings launched in 1984 when a local cricket club had their opposition pull out of the fixture. As a result, a last-minute group of business people were rounded-up to take on the plight.

After the success of this event, a list was put up in the local bar and soon the Lashings cricket team had enough personnel to be able to field sides on a regular basis.

In the past decade Lashings has moved from field to fame. Lashings has evolved into a slick corporate outfit. It’s now easier to list the international players who haven’t appeared for Lashings than those who have, but to name just a handful, Sachin Tendulkar, Alvin Kallicharan, Jimmy Adams, Rashid Latif, Wasim Akram, Allan Donald and Sir Viv Richards have all worn the Lashings uniform.
