Of course you’re going to hear some horror stories and there is occasional misuse of a property, but then you see and hear about these same misuses everyday in AST rental properties. Once an agent has got a long term tenant into the property they may not know what is going on under that roof for months at a time.
The best way to prevent serious issues with any type of letting, whether it be AST or holiday, is to get a highly experienced and professional management company involved, that’s where we at Vantage Point come into our own.
A number of other letting companies in the area have tried and failed to set up platform management, they have been unable to embrace the new trends in short term letting as they aren’t prepared to make the changes and modernisations needed. Rather than address their shortcomings they instead say that Airbnb etc. is dangerous and unmanageable and try to deter others from using it.
The truth of the matter is, if a property is managed by us the owner can relax, knowing it is in safe hands. We set up property listings correctly, ensuring that all platform security features are enforced. We also closely monitor all potential bookings, we have a strict vetting system in place for potential guests, very strict house rules for confirmed guests and we regularly carry out spot checks. If our guests aren’t adhering to house rules then we are able to cancel their booking and insist that they leave the property.

We now offer guests the ability to book with us directly which means we have a lot of loyal guests booking with us year after year.
Vantage Point has also expanded over the past year to offer our unique holiday let management services in both Swanage and the Isle of Wight, offering our clients in these locations the same great service we offer our clients in Bournemouth and Poole with reliable cleaning, maintenance and management services in both locations.

The Vantage Point reward card is something we think can really help guests’ staying in our properties; by offering them discounts on services from a wide range of local independents. Each guest staying with us has a reward card given to them on check in, they can go to our website to access the offers available in the area they are staying in, then simply present the card when using the service of the company.
We already have a number of local companies in partnership and we are looking expand this incentive. We don’t charge anything to either the guest or the company the idea is simply to incentivise our guest to sample local independent bars, restaurants and shops, whilst enabling the local company to enjoy a boost in tourist trade.
