Property Agents – Be sure to get the full picture!

In the internet age, when anybody is looking to identify a suitable estate agent, they are likely to turn to the internet for answers. The problem today, however, is that a skilled web designer can knock-up a website in a matter of days which makes even the smallest start-up business look like a Knight Frank, or a Savills.  With their smart logos and carefully-crafted write-ups, it can be a devil of a job to work out whether you’re about to instruct a major agency, or a complete novice working out of their spare bedroom!

Residential property is about people. Of course the bricks and mortar play their part, but any good agent will tell you that successful property transactions are not just about the properties – they’re about building rapports, establishing trust and friendships and working with all sides to achieve a common goal – and that takes people.

Quay prides itself in offering properties to let from 2 nights to 3 years. It offers self-catering holiday properties, serviced lettings, residential lettings, property management, residential sales and block management – all from our offices in Poole Old Town. To successfully offer that breadth of service across so many discrete disciplines requires a team of professionals who are fully trained in all aspects of the business. Matt, our Service Team Manager, runs the directly-employed cleaning team and linen handlers. He holds a degree in interior design – making him ideal for specifying new property fit-outs. Emily, our ARLA-qualified Maintenance Manager, is fully employed coordinating repairs and renewals across both the holiday letting and residential portfolios, using both in-house and external contractors. Our residential lettings negotiator is the bubbly Lakeisha, who is forever flying around in one of our branded vehicles showing properties to prospective tenants, and Claire our admin manager, is kept extremely busy back at base qualifying prospective tenants, preparing documentation and arranging move-ins. Scott, who heads up residential sales, has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry and our four-woman holiday letting team is currently gearing up for another scorching summer!

Clients who pop-in always remark about the buzz in our office. We work so closely with external contractors that they’re in our office more often than their own, and you’re as likely to be offered coffee by Pete the decorator as you are by one of the in-house team! It’s a great feeling when you know everyone is pulling together, and when you have worked with most of your contractors for more than a decade it is like being part of one big, extended family.

Quay always aims to do as much as it can ‘in-house’. Clients who have been with us for years like the fact that they know all the individuals in the team personally, and can pick up the ‘phone to them. We don’t contract-out our accounts department to India, or sub repairs out to unknown third parties, and if you need us after hours, you will speak to a member of staff on-call. To achieve all this requires people, and we are proud to have some of the best in the business!

So if you are looking to sell, let or holiday-let a property in the Poole area and want the personal touch of people who know their business, please do not hesitate to give any one of us a call – we’re all here to help!
