2018 has proved to be another busy year for David, Laurie, and the team at David James Architects, with DJA designs receiving further recognition in several awards and an ever-expanding project list.

Reassuringly, they have very strong links with the local authorities, and have considerable experience in negotiating planning applications, including deputations to planning committees and assisting in appeals. In addition, they have a proven track record for gaining planning permission nationwide, even for very challenging sites. Amongst others, David James Architects have won their category in the International Design & Architecture Awards for three years in a row, and have recently won an award in the category of Architecture Single Residence for South West England with their project ‘La Serena’, in the UK Property Awards 2018-2019. La Serena was also Highly Commended as Single Unit Development of the Year in the Premier Guarantee Awards last year, and was shortlisted in this years International Design & Architecture Awards.

La Serena evolved from the use of exciting design solutions to create a home that is thoughtfully designed to respect the surrounding natural environment. The house epitomises modern, luxury living, in a stunning, unique setting. A contemporary luxury four bedroom residence, La Serena is set in a private peaceful setting adjoining the renowned Parkstone Golf Course. Extensive glazing floods the open plan double height volume living areas and extends the boundaries of space, both inside the house and within the environment. The house boasts three levels, with a spectacular entertainment terrace and frameless glass balconies that provide elevated views of the surrounding golf course.

Another recently completed project, ‘Luscombe’ consists of three luxury houses designed by David James Architects for renowned developers Excellare. The site occupies a spectacular natural wooded setting presiding over Poole Harbour, with views to Brownsea Island and the Isle of Purbeck beyond. Conceived from the concept of ‘organic architecture’, the design amplifies the harmony between the dwellings and their settings. The house design complements the sylvan setting allowing the occupants to feel at one with their environment.

David James Architects are well known for designing bespoke luxury properties in the Sandbanks area, and their designs for ‘Vista Baia’ and ‘Vista Mare’ are no exception. Recently completed, DJA designed these two stunning contemporary houses for renowned developers Avante Developments. The design has been carefully considered for modern living, taking full advantage of the stunning views on offer. Externally, copper effect cladding, white render and timber garage doors complement each other and work in harmony with the building form. Located in Chaddesley Glen, these houses occupy a prime residential location just a stones throw away from Sandbanks Beach.
