International Moving

Steve has many years experience in the moving and storage industry.

Mr B asked “How do I choose an International remover?”

Steve replied “Moving to another country doesn’t need to be difficult or stressful. Logistically it always pays to choose a professional and experienced removal company, who will be adept at transporting your possessions to anywhere in the world.

“It’s worth checking that the company you choose is a member of the British Association of Removers Overseas Group. You may also wish to use an international mover that has achieved the highest level of service within the industry by attaining FIDI Accredited International Mover status (FAIM). This is the only independent quality assurance standard for the international moving industry”.

When it comes to packing, Steve recommends considering instructing your removals company to arrange this for you. They will be aware of any item restrictions and local customs regulations at your destination country.

“Maidmans always use superior wrapping and packing material to ensure maximum protection. Our team will create an inventory during the packing process, for customs purposes.”

Finally, Steve says: “Always consider when moving overseas, to factor in a longer lead time, ideally moving arrangements should be finalised at least two months before leaving the UK”.
