Q&A… Spring Revival

With spring just around the corner, is it time to get your health back on track?  Want to lose weight and have more energy but don’t know where to start or what REALLY works? Let the experts at Food Fit Body show you how:

What is the Food Fit Body Reboot programme?
It’s a 21 day fully guided, online food and fitness programme that supports people on their journey to sustainable weight loss, increased muscle mass and tone, more energy, better sleep, improved mood, glowing skin and generally better health. The focus is on  food that is delicious, easy and packs some serious nutritional punch, AND short achievable workouts that can be done in the comfort of your own home.

When you say guided, what do you mean?
We are an experienced team of health professionals who understand that life is busy which can often mean that you don’t always prioritise your health and wellbeing.  You want to be healthy and shed a few pounds but where do you start, how do you go about it?  At Food Fit Body, we take care of the know-how, organisation and planning so it couldn’t be easier for you.  Not only that, our nutritionist (Fran), health coach (James) and PT (Carrie) are on hand daily throughout the 21 day programme via the private Facebook group to answer any questions you may have and to offer inspiration, support and encouragement.  Many FFB Reboot participants find this sense of community invaluable and say it helps keep them stay motivated throughout the 21 days.

Why did you set it up?
Over the years we have individually helped people to lose weight, improve their health and get fit but the best results are seen when you combine food and fitness, “you can’t out-train a bad diet”, says Carrie.  “Carrie was my PT”, says Fran, “and we often discussed how we could help people more effectively so we decided to collaborate, to combine our areas of expertise to deliver great results for people who were time-poor but wanted to be fit and healthy. James was my client (you can read his story opposite) and his approach to diet and his recovery is an inspiration.  As a result he is now a qualified health coach, blogger and awesome recipe creator.”  All of us have one thing in common; to help people achieve their weight and health goals in an easy-to-follow, no-nonsense way that is healthy, sustainable and results-driven.

This reboot really works… weight loss, increased energy, improved sleep. Highly recommend from a serial dieter!

What makes it different from other healthy eating and fitness plans?
At the core of our approach is the latest scientific research from the field of nutrition and fitness.  Our food plans are carefully tailored to allow us to support the ROOT causes of weight gain, low energy, poor skin and so on.  By addressing the root cause, we are able to support these areas in a way that corrects them in the long-term. For example, we focus on supporting the health of the friendly bacteria in our gut (known as our microbiome) which have been shown to affect weight, mood, skin, energy, immunity and digestion.  Whilst weight loss is a common primary goal for most people, our approach is actually targeting the underlying causes of this and when these are addressed, weight loss is a natural result, along with a whole host of other benefits.

What’s the food like?
Delicious! We provide all recipes for the 21 days, breakfast, lunch and dinner, everyday. That’s right, no skipped meals, no fad diets, no calorie counting …just delicious, easy, honest real food! (Check out one of our popular recipes opposite) “The recipes were so easy to prepare and amazingly tasty!” – Janet

Why 21 days?
Evidence suggests that it takes 21 days to change habits, behaviour and thought patterns. We hand hold you throughout the 21 days and leave you equipped with the knowledge and know-how to continue on your path to health and vitality.

Who is the Food Fit Body Reboot suitable for?
Anyone and everyone wanting to lose weight or improve their health! James’s Story
At the age of 21, I became very ill.  It started with what I thought was just food poisoning, but I didn’t recover.  I became incredibly weak, lost 3 stone and became bedridden for 2 years.  Throughout this time, after many tests, doctors were unable to give me a diagnosis and just told me to rest.  Finally, they diagnosed me with ME and said there was little they could do to help.

I couldn’t watch TV or look at my phone as I was extremely sensitive to the light which would give me awful headaches but, to make matters worse, I suffered with severe insomnia, often going days without any sleep at all. This made it impossible to see my friends and made me feel really isolated.

I couldn’t accept that this was my lot and so my mum and I researched other options.  I started to have Bowen treatment and saw a nutritional therapist, and from there began to make changes to my diet and lifestyle that formed the catalyst for my recovery.  After 6 months of sticking rigidly to a nutritional plan, I slowly started to gain a little energy.  I managed to walk downstairs, then outside down to the end of our path, but each time it was so tiring, I needed to rest for days afterwards.  I slowly improved and, after 2 years of being confined to my bed, I was able to move in with my girlfriend which was a massive milestone for both of us.  During this time I discovered that I really liked researching and preparing healthy fresh food that was quick and easy (it needed to be as I didn’t have the energy for hours in the kitchen!).  My nutritionist (Fran) really helped me clean up my diet, cutting out processed food, gluten, dairy, and refined sugars, all of which made me feel ill.  My passion for creating delicious food that was really good for me grew and I started to share this via my blog.

Now, I am at a stage where I can look back and see what a huge impact food has had in my recovery. The more I cleaned up my diet, the better my energy levels became. This inspired and motivated me to qualify as a health coach, so that I could help others improve their health and lifestyle, through the Food Fit Body Reboot programmes and my healthy living blog www.healthylivingjames.co.uk
