Meet the team at Buzzy Cleaners

We spoke with Joanne Baker-Barratt, the proud owner of Buzzy Cleaners cleaning service that’s taking over the south coast by storm using Eco friendly products.

What led you to set up Buzzy Cleaners?
I felt there was a gap in the market for eco-friendly cleaners. I have had my business for two years since March 2015. I started alone then built up my now team of eight buzzy cleaners. I am very ambitious and always aim to make people happy. As a single mum with a seven-year-old daughter, I completely sympathize with those who have a lack of free time, so I thought to myself, “how can I help?”

Where does the ‘Buzzy Bee’ mascot come from?
We’re always buzzing around (pardon the pun) and furthermore we’re always busy! I love the colours of a bee and what they represent: a happy to help yellow alongside the more formal black. That’s who we are; an enthusiastic team, with a professional approach.

What aspects of cleaning do you cover?
Predominately domestic and commercial; home, offices, holiday lets and of course Airbnb rentals. We do also specialize in post builders cleans and contract cleans, as well as one-off cleans and end of tenancy cleanses. Anything that need a clean to be honest!

Take us through the Buzzy Cleaning process…
The initial meeting for a domestic client is at there home. I always meet the client first and introduce my business. I look round their home and then go through their requirements, then book a first clean in before any contracts are signed and if the client wishes to meet the cleaner first this can be arranged.

What makes you ‘buzzing’ to come into work?
I feel buzzy knowing I am helping clients with their busy lifestyles and giving an opportunity to my staff to grow with my buzzing business.

What makes you guys unique?
We have exceptionally high-standards and a great eye for detail and continuity. We are a happy, fun team that you can rely on. All of my cleaners are vetted, trained, experienced and fully uniformed.

You mentioned Airbnb, could you explain how you can help?
Airbnb is a global holiday letting service and it’s growing fast, particularly in Dorset and along the South Coast. It’s a chambermaid service, possibly with two clients a day – one checking-out in the morning and one checking-in in the afternoon – so it’s a quick turn around. We can assist with laundry, ironing and food shopping if required. As a holiday let, the standards have to be that of hotel cleaning standards. We can even support our clients with a meet and greet service for their guests (if required).

I understand you are big on being eco-friendly?
Absolutely, being eco-friendly is a huge part of our day-to-day lives and we want our business to be as green conscious as possible. All of our products are supplied by ‘Ecover’; environmentally friendly products that our clients love! Not only are we looking after the environment, but furthermore we’re looking after the health of our clients family, pets and their beautiful furnishings. Our products are totally toxin-free and work twice as well as your harsh household detergents.
